One offender is dog food. In a home that has both cats and dogs, it can be difficult to keep the animals out of each other’s food. Dog food does not offer adequate nutrition for a cat as it is lacking in protein and taurine. A regular diet of dog food will make your cat sick.
Table scraps are also not nutritionally adequate, although kitty may prefer them to dry food.
Never feed your cat chocolate as it can be toxic and even lead to death.
Bones can splinter inside your cat and get caught inside their throats or intestines. Serious injury can result.
Keep the foods above away from your cat, be sure to always have fresh water available, and feed your cat good-quality food made for cats or a nutritionally balanced homemade diet in order to keep your cat healthy.
